Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Bundle – Frickin’ Night Vision!
Now I’ve spent a lot of payola on my gaming habit during my life time. In fact, the sum total is probably more than I care to dwell on for extended periods of time. Especially when I consider just what Infinity Ward has decided to pack into their “Prestige Bundle” for the upcoming release of Modern Warfare 2. Yup, those are night vision goggles. And they’re not just for show, unlike the cat helmet from Halo 3 (looks at the one sitting on his shelf). The biggest surprise is that they are legit, working night vision goggles. For the low, low price of only $149…wait…$149 dollars for a game and legit night vision goggles? How is that even possible? Has Infinity Ward totally lost their mind?
I’ve been convinced for awhile that companies love bundles because they allow for price markups on already expensive luxury items (I, again, glare at my Halo 3 helmet). That being said, even if the goggles are not ‘army quality’ night specs, I think it’s cool enough to drive people to spend the extra $80 bucks to bring these bad boys home. And if you think about it, that’s cheaper than actually going out and buying a pair of night vision goggles from your local spy store. And I just know someone, somewhere is going to think that wearing these while playing the game will actually improve their kill count. I giggle shudder at the thought. Ten hut, soldier!
