Metro 2033

Ukrainian developer 4A-Games has just released its new first person shooter Metro 2033 to some pretty positive reviews.  Set in the underground ruins of the Moscow Metro after a nuclear apocalypse, the game’s tone and setting may seem reminiscent to that of Fallout or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. This isn’t that surprising considering a lot of former members of GSC (the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. guys) ended up at 4A. But the gameplay promises to be much more like the linear, controlled, intense set-piece design of Half-Life 2 and FEAR.  Which, to be frank, I am very very excited about.  I love open-world games, I love RPGs, but the chance to do some really solid FPS play in frightening and exciting situations really appeals to me right now.

I’ve been excited about this game for a while, and these trailers are what initially sold me on the title:
