Yes, clearly my absence helps keep the podcast down to a modest 2 hours 17 minutes… Schmuck.

Well, what’s the target time for a podcast? Ours or otherwise?

You know what IS crap about the new AvP though… the melee system. Basically every character has a light attack, heavy attack, and a block. EVERY character has this against EVERY OTHER character. I think you see the problem here.

Predator doesn’t want that charging Alien to pounce on him? Block.

Marine doesn’t want his spine ripped out by the Predator’s wristblades? Block.

I get that it’s a system designed with multiplayer in mind, and if gives everyone both a fighting chance and a reason to sneak up behind people. But having a Marine flawlessly bat an Alien away every time was very silly.

Not to mention that block followed by light attack gave a counter move that knocked down or stunned your attacker, letting you empty your clip into their head. ‘Twas the game’s guaranteed I WIN move.
