PAX PR Interview – Nintendo
Nintendo had a modest presence at PAX this year, but still managed to bring out the big guns with playable versions of Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Metroid Other M. Better yet for me, I got to talk to one of Nintendo’s PR people about the origin of these titles. Enjoy.
I just received my review copy of Metroid and it is awesome so far. I’ll have the full review up soon, but you’d do well to give the game a go. I just love Kit’s description of Yoshio Sakamoto’s vision for Metroid Other M. I’m also really looking forward to Kirby’s Epic Yarn just cause I’ve always enjoyed the traditional Kirby games and this one looks like it’s going to shake things up a bit.
And Donkey Kong. By the guys that did Metroid Prime. Do I even have to keep writing? It’s looking like some awesome classic Donkey Kong Country action. It’s amusing to me because the look of this game is the working realization of what the SNES was trying to imitate to begin with.
Look for Donkey Kong Country Returns on November 21st, 2010 and Kirby’s Epic Yarn October 17th, 2010. And Metroid Other M today, like you could go to the store and buy it right now if you wanted to. Just saying.
