Stupid News: Chinese Factory worker smuggles 3DS…most likely out of a job

Looks like security at a factory responsible for the production of Nintendo’s brand new portable system isn’t quite as strict as Nintendo might like.  It seems a factory employee was able to smuggle an unfinished 3DS production unit out of the factory without anyone noticing.  And like any normal person would do, he decided to share his exploits with all of us by making a video of the unit.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the unit he lifted has any of the final firmware installed as it didn’t play any games or even hit a 3DS screen when turned on.  Something tells me this guy has bigger problems to deal with, like finding a new job.

There’s always a chance that this is some kind of fuzzy marketing/pr stunt by Nintendo to keep the 3DS in our minds until March. It’s not like we’ve never seen pictures of the 3DS before. Still, I doubt Nintendo gets a lot of joy out of watching one of its systems walk right out the front door without anyone noticing.
