LEARN2PLAY: Four videos dissect Brink’s gameplay

Brink’s publisher/developer team of Bethesda and Splash Damage have released the fourth video in a collection of videos created to break down the mechanics and gameplay of the soon-to-be-released, team-based shooter. Each video deals with a different element of the game, from the S.M.A.R.T. (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) movement system and the real-time objectives, to the classes, deployables, and one whole video dedicated to the Heads-Up-Display. It’s a lot to take in. But if there’s one thing that I take away from all of these videos, it’s this: Brink is clearly drawing from some of the best elements of great team-based, objective shooters. What will remain to be seen is if the Parkour infusion, the city at sea setting, and the persistent multiplayer/singleplayer campaign will create a game that is both fresh and compelling to play.
