Atlus announces World Tendency events for Demon’s Souls 2-year Anniversary

Is your trepidation regarding Dark Souls unbearable?  Do you find yourself entering sweating fits at the mere thought of impending death?  Is your morbid fascination with ‘hoarding souls’ being tempered by your inability to justify plunking down a wad of cash for the newest entry in the soul series?  Well, you’re in luck.  Atlus has heard the cries of multitudes of soul hunters that have been slain left, right, and center and said, flat out, “we need more bodies!”  Demon’s Souls, which is only 19 bucks right now, is getting the royal 2-year anniversary treatment from Atlus.  Not only have they decided to keep the online servers running into next year, but for the month of October they’ll be doing special world events that will help you get to secret areas, defeat more bad guys, and collect more souls (which is really what it’s all about.)

In an excerpt from Atlus’ forums:

“In recognition of the title’s tremendous accomplishments and in sincere gratitude to the fan community for two years of unyielding passion and support, ATLUS today revealed World Tendency plans for the month of October. Starting today until October 17, Boletaria will shift to Pure White World Tendency, easing the game’s difficulty and unlocking otherwise inaccessible areas and items. From then until the end of the month, the World Tendency will become Pure Black, making the game more challenging and again, opening up otherwise hidden secrets

Changing the world tendencies is often the only way to get certain items, defeat certain foes, and effectively beat the game.  Which makes playing Demon’s Souls this month even more enticing than ever.  And that price point ain’t half bad either.

So if you’re looking for an excuse to finally dip your feet into the soul-soaked waters of Demon’s Souls, there has never been a better time.  Sure, lots of people have moved on to the greener pastures of Dark Souls.  But, think about it this way: playing Demon’s Souls is an excellent way to convince yourself to get Dark Souls.  Food for thought, eh?

You can check out the whole announcement on Atlus’ forums.
