New York Comic Con Gets its Game On!

In the land of comics, the nerd is king

By the time Sunday rolled around, it was clear that everyone in attendance, from the cosplayers, to the exhibitors, to the crew, to the extremely resilient volunteers were ready to put another Comic Con in the books. After four days of reveling in the wonder that is geek culture, you could sense that it was time to pack up booths, put away the costumes, and wrap up NYCC for another year.

Overall, I’d say NYCC 2012 was monumental success. New York City played host to its biggest fan-focused event of the year and seemingly pulled it off without so much as a hitch. As far as video games go, I know full well that NYCC will probably never garner the kind of video game industry attention that San Diego sees (say what you will about that zoo of a convention). But it’s nice to see that the video game industry has the foresight not to leave New York City high and dry when it comes to giving them some games to get excited for. I can only hope that, as NYCC evolves, it will continue to cater to the fans of high-quality entertainment, whatever their chosen medium may be.
