Again!), Clive Barker’s Jericho - Topic of the Week: Is the importance of the Single Player experience being replaced by Multiplayer/Co-op? - The NEWS - Web of Shadows developer Shaba Studios closed by Activision - “The Flash” game shut down 6 months into development - Massive GM explains that gamers actually like ads - Gamespot “All Time Greatest Hero” contest comes to a close…with questionable results. - As well as references to Heavy Rain, Dragon Age Origins, Bioshock 2, Uncharted 2, and Brutal Legend [dewplayer:http://www.gamecrashers.net/media/podcast/GC_EP18_101209.mp3] Also note: Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend are out TODAY!
No, it’s not a spinoff of Double Fine’s Brütal Legend. It’s a project being spearheaded by a bunch of very talented welders, carpenters, and designers who decided to enter a soap box racing contest using the metal tour bus from Brutal Legend as their inspiration. So far, they’ve built the frame and are currently working on the demonic inspired chassis. The whole thing is being documented on their own blog as well as a d-toid blog. Personally, I don’t see how these guys can lose. I mean, you can’t stop ROCK! The group will continue to document, via pictures and video, the construction of their vehicle of rock until it’s completion. Best of all, while a soap box race is determined primarily by gravity, they designed the bus with a motor in mind. Now that is totally metal!
For our final podcast in the single digits, Jason, Dave, Rob, and new guest host Sean dive deep into the mire of games they’ve played to bring you the strangest Game of the Week session yet. And for some reason, Jason and Dave insist on playing Quake Live during several parts of the recording, making their comments even less reliable than usual. Topics we discuss on the show: - Fallout 3, Battlefield 1943, Prototype, Super Mario Bros. 3, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Quake Live, Unreal Tournament - Double fine Countersues Activision - Beyond Good & Evil 2 speculation creates more speculation. - Town deadlocked on renewal of video game license for a Chuck E.
EA has not revealed the lengths to which the lucky few will have to go to get their hands on one of these bad-ass, hand-crafted statues. But whatever it is, damn EA for making the wait so excruciating. Not only is this statue bad-ass, it’s in very limited quantity. Only 1,000 pieces of the Eddie Riggs statue (Sculpted by Mark Newman and colored by Tom Vukmanic) were commissioned. So, simply put, no, this will not be coming packed in with any bundle of the game. But I swear, if I have to go fight anti-rock demons in an alternate universe to get one, I just might consider it. Bring it on, EA! Stay tuned to the Brutal Legend Twitter Feed and Brutal Legend ‘dot’ com for more info.
