Do you like fantasy? Do you like co-op? Do you like co-op fantasy? Well Hunted might just be your game. Developed by inXile Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks, Hunted is aiming to fill a void that most people didn’t even know was untouched: co-op fantasy action. If it sounds crazy, it kind of is. At the same time, it’s the kind of unusual genre-bending, action-adventure, Lucy Lawless-as-Xena (yes, she’s in it) kind of wild stuff that just might strike a chord with gamers looking for some double-teaming fantasy action. And if that doesn’t sell you on the idea, maybe these two developer docs will satisfy your appetite for Hunted information (yes, one of them also has Lucy Lawless in them, ya damn deviants!). Related Posts:MEDIA BLITZ: Duke Nukem ForeverFMV Cloverfield-style – any gameplay = Prey 2 TeaserVIDEO: Duke Nukem gets a case of “Shrinkage”Recent Skyrim trailer has me more interested in Elder Scrolls than Oblivion ever didPAX Developer Interview – Deus Ex Human Revolution

With the development time on the thirteenth installment of the Final Fantasy series quickly approaching the five year mark, SqueEnix has decided to wet “FF ” fans whistles world wide with a trailer that is sure to make everyone very excited for this game. Watch the pretty images after the jump. Just have a Japanese to English dictionary handy. As you can see, the game is looking just beautiful. Sure I can’t understand a word of what the heck they’re saying. But seeing this makes me pray to the god of JRPG’s that this game hits it’s expected Q1 window in the states. Otherwise I will not be a happy gamer. In the meantime, I beg of the YouTube community: fan-sub please! P.S. to SquareEnix: please leave the Japanese language track in the American release. Pretty please!
When things go quiet for long periods of time over at the house that Carmack built, you know something special is coming. When Rage was announced at E3 2008, there was not much info in the way of what the game was or what it would look like. A year and change later, id has given us a much greater glimpse of what to expect from this post-apocalyptic shoot’em up that feels like Fallout 3 on speed. This is Rage…are you ready to fight to survive?
For those who frequent the MMO ‘space’, EvE Online has always been known as a game who’s impenetrable starting game is only surpassed by it’s equally impenetrable and viciously protected end game realm known as ‘low-sec’ or 0.0 space. Out here, you make your own rules, your own laws, and your own choices. Alliances of thousands of ships in a constant struggle to protect their turf and make boat loads of cash to support their large player owned stations, battleships, and production lines. In some ways, Eve is the “wild wild west” of MMOs. The frontier is out there and you and your gang, corporation, alliance can lay claim to it, but you’re going to have to fight to keep it. However, this incredible sense of freedom has always come at a high price: days, weeks, even months of learning skills one at a time, a regular repeating pattern of moons, stars, and asteroids that don’t actually exist, battles that boil down to who’s spreadsheet is stacked higher with skills than the other, and players who have been playing so long that they are, essentially, the lone wolves with no equal. CCP’s latest trailer, ‘the butterfly effect’, wants you to see the best parts of what Eve has to offer. Personally, I think it’s the best trailer the company has ever made to sell the game. Unlike previous trailers filled with lots of pretty visuals and not much else, this trailer explains (quite well in fact) how having one, seamless world allows for the actions of each player to reverberate across the entirety of Eve. While CCP’s attempts to draw in new players are admirable, there are still plenty of players who will never dive in longer than the 14-day trial. If only because of videos like this (see above).
I’ll be perfectly frank: I’m really starting to get burned out on real-life inspired FPS. It has nothing to do with the quality of the games (or lack there of) or the story (ditto) or even the multiplayer modes (double ditto). It has a lot more to do with the fact that almost any shooter inspired by real world weapons, wars, battles, and so on, pales in comparison to the hell that war really is. If you can respawn or heal over time, your game is no more realistic than the Halo series. The only difference is now you’re placing other ethnic groups, other cultures, and other beliefs in your cross hairs. It’s highly possible a few people might not take too kindly to that. In any case, the latest trailer for Modern Warfare 2 (compliments of gamevideos.1up.com) looks really good. The video is less than HD quality, so things don’t look quite as pristine as they will in the final game. But it’s nice to see some in engine segments of what, I assume, is the single player part of the game. While I played my fair share of the first game (single and multiplayer) I’m not entirely convinced how this game is going to make me feel any less burned out on shooters than I already do. And, if I had to guess, I would assume that Infinity Ward is not going to deviate too far from what they’ve already perfected from the first game. It’s way too early for Infinity Ward to try and reinvent the wheel on COD (though the axing of the COD moniker from the title completely is an interesting move, seeing as it’s an easy way to identify the title). Will people go for the title based on “Modern Warfare” alone? Probably. But, to this gamer, I’m far more excited about the insane, sci-fi inspired shoot-em up action of Red Faction: Guerrilla than I am for Modern Warfare. It’s just starting to become way to “real” for my video gaming tastes. source: GameVideos.com Related Posts:PS3 Slim – It’s real because Kaz Hirai said soRed Faction Guerrilla – Demons of the Badlands DLCPAX Writer Interview – Dragon Age 2Modern Warfare 2 – Yet another damn good trailerModern Warfare 2 Launch Trailer get Eminem’d
